M4M: THE BAND PRODUCED YOUR DEBUT ALBUM “END OF SILENCE” WITH ROB GRAVES AND IT TOOK ABOUT 2
YEARS TO DO, WHAT WAS THE PROCESS FOR THE ALBUM?

RANDY
: We started writing songs in a garage that we had rented while we were all living together. Once we got them
recorded we took them to a friend of Jasen's who happened to be Rob Graves. He saw a lot of potential in our writing
and decided to take us under his wing and produce our recordings. At the time we did not have our eyes set on a deal,
we just wanted to see where it would go. The two years it took to record came mostly from waiting for studio time. Since
we were not paying for it, anytime a paying act came along, our project took a back seat.

M4M: WHAT MADE THE BAND DECIDE TO USE STRING ARRANGEMENTS VS DOING A FEW SONGS
ACOUSTICALLY?

RANDY
: During the recording process we got to a point where we felt like the songs were not complete and needed
something more. We decided to take the strings that many bands incorporate, and take them to the next level.

M4M: MOST BANDS USE DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES TO DISTINGUISH THEMSELVES AS A BAND, HOW DO YOU THINK
THE ARRANGEMENTS YOU HAVE MAKE YOU STAND OUT FROM THE REST OF THE BANDS OUT THERE RIGHT
NOW?

RANDY
: I think when people think about a RED record they first think about the strings and ambient elements that define
our sound. We simply wanted to take ordinary strings and make them extraordinary.

M4M: “BREATHE INTO ME” WAS THE FIRST SINGLE, WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO HAVE THAT AS THE FIRST
SINGLE VS “LET GO” WHICH LATER BECAME A SINGLE?

RANDY
: Breathe Into Me was the song on the record that we were most excited about. Let Go came soon after because
we felt it important to establish ourselves as a legit hard rock act.

M4M: A LOT OF THE SONGS ARE ABOUT SEARCHING FOR SOMEONE OR SOMETHING, HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO
FIND A CLOSURE TO ALL THE QUESTIONS/SEARCHING?

RANDY
: I think we found the closure before we wrote the songs. That is what "End of Silence" is about. It was our time to
talk about how we got out of the struggles we found growing up and in life. The theme of the record is very redemptive.

M4M: HAVING BROTHERS IN THE BAND, HOW IS IT WORKING WITH “2 LIKE MINDS” AND ARE THEIR STYLES IN
WRITING, ETC DIFFERENT FROM ONE ANOTHER OR HOW DOES THAT CLOSENESS CONTRIBUTE TO THE BAND
AS A WHOLE?

RANDY
: At the end of the day there are 5 brothers in the band, but I think the other guys enjoy the fights my brother and
I get in. They are loud and sometimes harsh but end quickly and everyone is fine 5 minutes later. They seem to think it is
funny. I truly think there are 5 like minds in the band. We all know what we want and how we are going to go about
getting it, and because we get along so well as a group, I believe that has attributed to our success as a band.

M4M: WHAT’S NEXT FOR RED? MORE TOURS, COLLABORATIONS WITH OTHER ARTISTS, ETC…?

RANDY
: We have been a touring band from the start so we will be playing plenty of shows. In the midst of a heavy
schedule we are recording tracks for our sophomore album.

M4M: “PIECES” AND “ALREADY OVER” ARE ON THE SOFTER SIDE OF THE BAND, TELL US HOW THESE TWO
SONGS CAME TO LAND A SPOT ON THE RECORD AND HOW YOU CAME ABOUT WRITING THEM?

RANDY
: Because our music is dynamic, meaning it has it highs and lows, we felt it necessary to have it softer sides also.

M4M: HOW DID THE BAND NAME “RED” COME ABOUT?

RANDY
: RED is a color used to describe many emotions. Our music takes the listener on an emotional roller coaster. It
was short, meaningful, and memorable so we went for the trademark and after two years of searching it was ours.

M4M: THE TYPE OF CROWDS/FANS YOU GUYS ARE GETTING ARE BECOMING BIGGER AND THERE’S A SENSE OF
FAMILY WITH THE BAND AND THE FANS. THE APPRECIATION WE’VE SEEN WITH YOU AND THE FANS IS
SOMETIMES HARD TO FIND IN MOST BANDS….

RANDY
: From the beginning we set out to encourage and inspire people. We want our fans to feel like they are a part of
something. That is the first step in knowing that we are not alone in our struggles. We have quite the fan club and they
have all become close friends. They are our biggest supporters and they need to know how much we appreciate them.
There’s always a search for the perfect blend of emotion, melody,
beat, influence, perception and gratification when a band puts
forth a record. There are few that are able to grasp a few of those
qualities; none-the-less grasps all of them and more. The
dedication it takes to create a piece of art takes persistence,
patience, determination and perseverance to succeed. One band
and one word: RED. The combined efforts of each member and
with the direction of one of the words best producers, an album
was created that pushed limits and drew new attention to the
movement of ambient rock. The two words have rarely, if ever,
been put together, until now. RED’s mixture of string arrangements
mixed with their core sound, rock, has pushed boundaries in a new
direction. Their large and ever growing fan base is only a small
testament to the bright future that lays ahead for the band. It’s one
not to be missed and one to be proud of. RED is that powerful
blend of perfection that some of us have been looking for.
