Pop Evils hit single 100 in a 55 took on a much different meaning to me when I was able to experience first hand the
chaos that goes into being on the road and Opening for the legendary Judas Priest.  On this stormy day in Mansfield
Mass Pop Evil has the  task of getting the crowd ready for the legends that will step on stage that evening, Whitesnake
and Judas Priest. Now right off the bat I would like it known that I have personally seen this group several times in the
past including Rock on the Range this past May in Ohio, so I knew that if any group would be fit to open this show it was
Pop Evil.
Pop Evil whom fan’s may just now be starting to hear on your local airwaves has actually been together for quite
some time hailing out of  Grand Rapids, Michigan; they bring a melodic post grunge feel to the stage with influence’s of
Pearl Jam, S.T.P, and Soundgarden  but with there own style and rhythm. Lead vocalist Leigh  Kakaty also has been
known  to do a little rapping going by the name The Harem King has great talent  behind the mic and will bring any
crowd into their performance.
As I ventured off into their dressing room it was quite clear to me even with their set about an hour and half away
the guys were all busy doing their own thing, tuning guitars or writing music, last minute stage prep that sort of thing that
combined with the venue moving up their load time it was not hard to see that there is a constant speed of doing 100 in
a 55.
