Final Gravity is a band that is very intriguing to me. At first glance you are unsure whether to take these group of
guys as serious musicians or extremely talented Beer experts just out to have a good time. Everywhere you look this
group has extreme references to the tasty beverage right down to their name and debut album cover. The band does
feature two talented home brewer’s as well as a state certified beer judge so why not incorporate that into their musical
career’s? Now onto the music!

Final Gravity’s self titled debut album feels like a mixture of rock from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s that’s been thrown in a
blender for the perfect cocktail. Vocalist Bill Moore is incredibly talented and it shows as he can make a voice transition
from a high pitch scream to a melodic soft tone instantly and even makes it sound like it’s easy to do. John Chominsky
shows his talents as he is able to take different roles on the kit  and create a unique sound as the mood of the song’s
change. Mike Clark provides great riffs on lead guitar and Charles Mumford compliments to perfection on bass.

Final Gravity gives it’s fans thirteen tracks on this album and for the beer enthusiasts a great little beer mug swinging
jingle with the special track IPA. During this listening adventure you will hear comparison sound to Led Zeppelin,
Mettalica, and I feel some early Sabastian Bach as well as other inspirational bands from past years. The album reminds
me of a menu at a restaurant, you probably won’t like all the selections but there is something on that menu you will love,
but is that not the most unique thing about music? I mean I could say  I like “Parallel Lives” on this album but you may
say “Phoenix” is more to my taste buds. The point is There is something to enjoy on this album for any fan of music.

Like a giant beer sampling we have put together all songs from this album into little shot glasses for you to get a
taste. So go ahead scroll down to the bottom and wet your whistle!!
Water, barley, hops, yeast: four distinct ingredients that work in completely different ways to create a great beer. Named
after a brewing term, Final Gravity has four musician ingredients, each of whom adds his own specific contribution to a
unique musical brew.
Reuniting in 2007 after a hiatus, Final Gravity ventured into the cellar and found that its old songs had improved with
age. Over the course of two years, new songs were added and the band's material evolved and melded after being
performed at numerous live shows. The resulting songs which compose the band's eponymous debut album are an
eclectic mix with a sound that can only be described as Final Gravity.
The band's music is not just a mix of new and old, but also of four specific musical sensibilities. With a drummer who
started playing after he heard his first KISS song, a guitarist who was once mistaken for Alex Lifeson of Rush, a bassist
who loves the angular sounds of progressive metal, and a singer equally influenced by the music of Simon and
Garfunkel and Rage Against the Machine, Final Gravity is indeed a heady brew.
Drummer John Chominsky enjoys water in many forms. Being an avid hockey player, he often skates upon water that is
frozen. Athletes and drummers need to stay hydrated, so John is thankful that beer is mostly water. He studied drums
and percussion at Drummers Collective in New York City and Berklee College of Music in Boston. John also owns a
successful commercial recording studio in Santa Monica, CA.
Charles Mumford provides the malty goodness that is the low end of Final Gravity's sound. Preferring dark lyrical themes
and even darker beers, Charles is also a video editor and directed Final Gravity's first two music videos. An alumnus of
Musicians Institute, the first seed of Final Gravity was planted at the school when Charles posted a "guitarist wanted" ad.
Guitarist Mike Clark is bitter, just like the hops he loves so much. His political anthems "Line Em Up" and "Room 19"
provide scathing indictments of government and corporate evil. However, Mike balances his bitterness with the smooth
flavors provided by his guitar playing and arranging skills. A former student of instrumental guitar guru Gary Hoey, Mike
holds a BA in Music from California State University, Northridge and answered Charles' ad at Musicians Institute.
Yeast, long a mystery to the world of science, was finally discovered in the 19th century. With that scientific discovery out
of the way, Bill Moore, PhD, instead devoted his career to exploring the mysteries of the solar system as a researcher
and assistant professor at UCLA, where he earned his doctorate. Bill can sing as well and his vocals help ferment Final
Gravity's songs into intoxicating finished products.
The beer connection? Pour a fine craft beer into its proper glass and crank up Final Gravity's debut album. By the time
you get to the end, you'll understand. Cheers!
